Pre-release terms

Terms of use

Effective: 21 October 2026
Product: Kizuki by Hatarai

These pre-release terms describe the intended basis on which Kizuki is being tested. Final consumer terms, the contracting legal entity and applicable governing-law provisions will be completed before a public commercial release.

What Kizuki provides

Kizuki helps learners understand Japanese they encounter and turn that material into personal learning. Generated translations, readings and explanations may contain errors or omit context. They are learning assistance, not professional advice or a certified translation.

Your responsibilities

Accounts

An account is optional for the local-first core experience. If you create one, you are responsible for controlling access to your chosen authentication providers. Supported credentials may be linked to a single Kizuki account through an explicit action; matching email addresses alone do not authorize account merging.

Your content

You retain your rights in content you submit. You permit Kizuki and its contracted processors to process that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the requested service, subject to the privacy notice. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.

Availability and changes

Kizuki is under active development. Features may change, be unavailable or be withdrawn during testing. We may apply reasonable limits needed to manage security, reliability and service cost.

Intellectual property

Kizuki, Hatarai, the application design and service software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant rights to use product branding or software except as necessary to use the service.

Ending use

You may stop using Kizuki at any time. You can sign out or start account deletion in the app. Account deletion and removal of data stored only on your device are separate actions.

Contact and final terms

The final operator identity, support address, governing law, consumer-rights language, warranty provisions and any paid-service terms will be added and reviewed before public release.

Status: These are pre-release terms for development and testing. They are not a substitute for the final reviewed consumer agreement.
